New Geometries for Covalent Organic Frameworks

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a versatile class of new materials with a plethora of potential applications. The geometry of the monomer and its functional groups allow the precise construction of defined architectures either as stacked two dimensional sheets or three dimensional networks. These frameworks are in general porous and highly crystalline. In the presented work new monomers are shown to construct completely new geometries for this exciting class of materials.
